Class of 2021 AJHoF induction

This year, for the first time since 2012, we have multiple uniforms to be inducted in the Alternate Jersey Hall of Fame. Longtime candidate Florida 09-12 finally enters at the eighth time of asking. While Minnesota 09-17 had it's third year on the ballot.

 

Both candidates were well deserving and hard luck to the other candidates. We continue to look forward to the rich heritage of this particular branch of the BNG Halls of Fame.

Ushering in the New Guard

As may have been speculated with the announcement ten days ago regarding today's unspecified shenanigans. And while the AJHoF Committee was deliberating on the nominees for induction, a separate committee was tasked with the purpose for today's conclusion. The basketball jersey division will welcome its inaugural class. We would also like to acknowledge that the day after the Major League Baseball All Star Game next month, we will welcome baseball uniforms to the Halls of Fame. Alternate Jersey's will become a wing of the overall BNG Sport Uniform Hall of Fame, or the "Bingspouhoff" for short. Gridiron football (NFL, CFL, and Arena Football) will join the day after the Arena Bowl These in addition to today's festivities comes as a part of expansion of the BNG Halls of Fame kick-started by the launch of this site.

Today's basketball jersey's are being inducted as a whole and then placed into their respective jersey's category. Dates for other sports uniforms will be announced at a later time. As for ice hockey home and road uniforms, those will expand to other leagues beyond the NHL and will be bundled in with other considerations, presumably September of 2019. But the initial class of new hockey jerseys will be during draft weekend next month.

Old Guard, New Faces

As we have prepared for this week's worth of events, the time has come for the 2018 Alternate Jersey Hall of Fame announcement. There is one lone inductee this year, a first ballot nominee. It marks the fourth such time in which a franchise has multiple jerseys inducted. In this case, it is improved from its predecessor and as such, was chose by the selection committee. Please welcome the 2009/10 - 2014/15 Colorado Avalanche alternate jersey.

As we consider that new jerseys will be introduced to the NHL as a result of the switch to Adidas,  it will be interesting to see which will be the crowning jewels of this era. We are exited to bring you this coming Monday's festivities!

Six Day Layover

With the Washington Capitals victory last night,we have a week to reflect on the season that was. Now the Stanley Cup has been has been claimed, We are making final preparations for next week's induction into the Alternate Jersey Hall of Fame. A separate, unrelated announcement will be scheduled for June 18th, four days following the AJHoF induction.
